Code details (how CROW compares to other offers): Primally Pure Discount Code CROW — 15% off.
Updated October 2026. Living in Mancos means dry high-desert air, wind, and a lot of sun at altitude — between trail runs, garden days, and long weekends in gyms at my girls' volleyball tournaments, my lips take a beating. This is my honest Primally Pure Lip Care Kit review: what's actually in the kit, a closer look at the Lip Oil and the lip balm flavors, how I layer everything, whether the kit is worth it vs. buying pieces separately, and how to use code CROW for 15% off.
Quick correction: an earlier version of this post said the kit included the five-flavor Lip Balm Set. It doesn't. The Lip Care Kit is the Rose + Mint Tinted Lip Balm, Lip Oil, and Lip Polish. I've fixed that below and added a separate section on the classic balms, since that's what a lot of you are searching for.
Quick verdict
Best for: dry, flaky, wind- or sun-chapped lips, and anyone swapping petroleum-based balms for a short tallow/beeswax ingredient list.
My favorite piece: the Lip Oil. It's the one I reach for most.
Skip it if: you want a vegan lip routine (tallow, beeswax, and lanolin are in these formulas) or you're sensitive to lanolin.
Price (checked Oct 12, 2026): $44 for the kit vs. $56 if you bought the three pieces separately. Code CROW takes 15% off at checkout.
What's in the Primally Pure Lip Care Kit (2026)
Here's what you get, with the individual prices listed on primallypure.com when I checked on October 12, 2026:
Rose + Mint Tinted Lip Balm ($14): a soft, dusty-pink sheer tint. Cocoa butter, beeswax, and rose for moisture, with beetroot and hibiscus for the color. It's buildable, so one swipe is barely-there and two looks like a natural flush.
Lip Oil ($20): high-shine hydration made with organic castor oil, pomegranate sterols, grass-fed tallow, and lanolin.
Lip Polish ($22): a weekly exfoliating treatment with green coffee bean powder, pomegranate sterols, and lanolin.
Together that's a three-step routine: polish, oil, then balm. You can bundle it with other Primally Pure favorites in the same order.
Primally Pure Lip Oil review
If you only try one thing from this kit, make it the Lip Oil. It gives real shine like a gloss, but it feels cushiony and nourishing instead of tacky. On my lips it lasts longer than a regular balm, which is why I keep one in the car and one in my volleyball-mom bag.
What's in it: organic castor oil (the shine and slip), pomegranate sterols (plumping and moisture), and grass-fed tallow plus ethically sourced lanolin to lock moisture in. There's no synthetic fragrance or filler.
How I use it: alone for a glossy look, over the Rose + Mint Tinted Lip Balm for a glassy tinted finish, or as a thick layer before bed on really dry nights.
Latte Lip Oil: if you want a little color, Primally Pure also makes a Latte Lip Oil. It has a natural, earthy nude tint and a coffee scent. It's sold separately, not in the kit.
Honest caveats: it's a gloss, so expect some transfer to coffee mugs and water bottles. And because it contains lanolin (from sheep's wool), skip it if you know you react to lanolin.
Primally Pure lip balm flavors (and which one to pick)
The classic Primally Pure lip balm isn't in the Lip Care Kit, but it's the product I get asked about most. It's made with grass-fed tallow, beeswax, cocoa butter, and mango butter. It's a short ingredient list that feels rich without being greasy. Each tube is $6, and it comes in five flavors:
Peppermint: cool and fresh. It's my everyday pick, and the one I'd hand to someone new to tallow balm.
Creamsicle: sweet orange-vanilla, the fun one.
Lavender: soft and calming, nice at bedtime.
Grapefruit: bright citrus.
Cocoa: subtle chocolate, the coziest of the five.
If you can't decide, the Lip Balm Set ($28) includes all five flavors in an organic cotton bag. It's easy to split between the car, gym bag, purse, and nightstand, and it makes a great stocking stuffer.
Need sun protection? The classic and tinted balms don't have SPF. For long days outside, Primally Pure makes a Sun Lip Balm SPF 15 ($14, unscented or lavender mint) with non-nano zinc oxide. I cover it with the rest of their sun lineup in my Primally Pure SPF line review.
Primally Pure Lip Polish: is a lip scrub worth it?
I was skeptical about a lip scrub, but this is the step that makes the oil and balm work better. Green coffee bean powder gently buffs away flakes. Then pomegranate sterols and lanolin leave lips soft instead of raw. Use it once a week (maybe twice in winter), not every day. If you already love the coffee scrub for your body, this is the lip-sized version of that ritual. Here's my Primally Pure Coffee Body Polish review.
How I layer the Lip Care Kit
Polish (1x a week, at night): massage a small amount on in circles for 20 to 30 seconds, then wipe off with a warm washcloth.
Oil: press on right away while lips are still soft.
Balm: seal it in with the Rose + Mint Tinted Lip Balm for daytime color, or a classic balm at night.
Outdoors: on sunny trail or lake days, I switch to an SPF lip balm and reapply often.
Is the kit worth it vs. buying separately?
Bought one at a time, the three pieces add up to $56 ($14 + $20 + $22). The kit is $44, so you save about $12 before any code. With code CROW (15% off), the kit comes to about $37.40 before tax and shipping. Primally Pure sometimes runs its own sitewide sales, so check at checkout which discount gives you the better deal.
My take: get the kit if you want the full routine or a ready-made gift. If you just want a great everyday balm, the $6 classic balm or the $28 five-flavor set is the better value.

Pros and cons
Pros
Short, recognizable ingredient lists (tallow, beeswax, plant butters and oils), with no petroleum or synthetic fragrance.
The Lip Oil is high-shine without feeling sticky.
The kit saves about $12 over buying the pieces separately, and it's gift-ready.
It holds up to dry, windy Colorado weather better than drugstore balms have for me.
Cons
Not vegan: contains tallow, beeswax, and lanolin.
The kit's balm is tinted. If you want clear balm, add a classic balm.
No SPF in the kit, so pair it with a sun lip balm for long outdoor days.
A gloss-style oil will transfer a bit to cups.
Is it a good gift?
Yes. It's one of my go-to gifts for teachers, coaches, and girlfriends. The kit is a complete, giftable set. The five-flavor Lip Balm Set is the budget pick, and single $6 balms are perfect stocking stuffers. Primally Pure also has a limited-edition Holiday Tinted Lip Balm listed right now ($12) if you want something festive.
